World Travel Awards are like the ‘Oscars’ of the travel industry, in words of the Wall Street Journal. These awards started in 1993, and every year recognise the excellent work of the best companies around the world, according to the criteria of some hospitality experts and also the travel buyers. The WTA have different categories, including hotels, airline and car-hire companies and also travel agencies.
This year the WTA celebrates its 24th anniversary, and will be attended by senior executives from major travel companies, operators, destinations, etc. They represent a recognition of the commitment to excellence and continuous efforts to improve customer service in the travel industry and tourism.
Latin Trails has been honoured this year with two nominations. The first one as a tour operator, and the second one is a nomination to our exclusive yacht, the Galapagos Sea Star Journey. In the category of South America’s Leading Tour Operator, the WTA has 11 nominees, and Latin Trails is one of them.
This is the 9th year that our Destination Management Company is recognized with this nomination, so we are very happy and also enthusiastic with the chance to win this year. Among the four nominated cruises in South America, in the category of South America’s Leading Boutique Cruise 2017, our Galapagos Sea Star Journey has been selected for the first year in the 24th annual World Travel Awards™.
