Day 1 (Wednesday) : Iquitos, Nauta, Pahuashiro
Day 2 (Thursday) : Ucayali River, Yanallpa Of Ucayali, Tapiche River, Dorado River
Start your day early with a skiff expedition to Yanallpa, a biodiversity hotspot within the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Spot monkeys, birds, and other wildlife. After breakfast, continue exploring by skiff along the Tapiche River in search of more native fauna. Return to the Zafiro before midday to enjoy a culinary demonstration by the onboard chef. Later, participate in a fascinating talk about the reserve’s ecosystem. In the afternoon, fish using traditional Amazonian techniques in the Dorado River. As night falls, take a second nocturnal ride to observe creatures of the dark. Enjoy a delicious dinner onboard.
Day 3 (Friday) : Ucayali River, Yarapa De Ucayali (black Waters), Amazon River, Tahuayo River
After breakfast, journey through the black waters of the Yarapa River, home to the elusive pink and gray river dolphins. Then witness the awe-inspiring confluence of the Ucayali and Marañón Rivers—the birthplace of the Amazon. After lunch and some rest, set out again to explore riverside communities along the Tahuayo. Learn about their way of life, observe daily routines, and soak in the colors of a mesmerizing Amazonian sunset. Return to the Zafiro for live music, relaxation, and a celebratory farewell dinner hosted by the crew.
Day 4 (Saturday) : Disembark In Iquitos
After your final breakfast aboard the Zafiro, disembark and begin your return to Iquitos. On the way, stop at the Manatee Rescue Center, a conservation initiative by the Amazon Forever Organization. Learn how rescued manatees and other wildlife are rehabilitated for reintroduction into the wild. Gain insight into the challenges facing Amazonian fauna and the vital work of biologists and volunteers. The visit closes your journey with a reflection on the importance of conservation. From here, you’ll head to the airport for your onward journey.
