The best activities if you travel to Ecuador with kids

One thing is to read about the Incas, or watch a documentary about the Galapagos Islands and their exotic animals, but another thing is to experience all this by yourself. Kids learn so much when travelling, and it is also a perfect moment for families to spend time together, have fun and also learn to deal with different situations.

Furthermore, kids are the perfect travelers, for many reasons: they are curious, they talk naturally with locals and they enjoy every single thing and moment.

The best activities if you  travel to Ecuador with kids

If you travel to Ecuador with kids, there are some activities that are perfect for all the family.

GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

Kids love animals, so they enjoy Galapagos very much! They can swim among the penguins, and learn about a lot of species that can be found in the different islands. Remember that it is not allowed to feed or touch the animals; so it is a chance to teach ecotourism to the kids. If you want them to enjoy the experience even more, you can buy them some books or cards with animals, so they can learn about the species before going there.

Furthermore, the Islands have a lot of activities to do with children, like kayaking, swimming and snorkelling.

THE MIDDLE OF THE WORLD

One of the musts for most travelers is the Equator, which is also responsible for the name of the country. Kids enjoy this experience, because they can jump in a moment from an hemisphere to another. It is an activity for kids up to six or seven years old, if they are too young they won´t understand it.

EAT A PAILA ICE CREAM IN QUITO

One of the most typical desserts in Ecuador is paila ice cream. Paila is the name of the skillet that they use to prepare this sweet delight. The result is a creamy puree of fruits, very natural and fresh. Your children will enjoy it so much, and they can see how the ice cream is prepared, or even do it by themselves.

SEE THE EXOTIC COSTUMES AND LISTEN TO THE TYPICAL MUSIC

Ecuador has many interesting traditions during all year long.  There are many streets, markets and bars that are available the whole year to enjoy their traditional music, the typical gastronomy and the exotic costumes. Kids love listening to the typical folklore music of the Andes, and they are very curious about typical dancings, serenades and clothes.
